3AF Organizes Successful Kpop Session at ANA’s Multicultural Conference
Attendees of the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) 2019 Multicultural Marketing and Diversity Conference held in San Diego, California got a deep dive into the world of Kpop thanks to the opening session, organized by the 3AF. The two-hour session was divided into three parts. First, an overview of Kpop; then a session on experiential marketing utilizing Kpop from an agency perspective and lastly a panel of marketers (McDonald’s; Chips Ahoy; and Toyota) who are successfully integrating Kpop in their marketing efforts. 3AF Board Member Nita Song of IW Group, Inc. introduced the panelists. “We were glad to showcase Kpop to many attendees at the ANA who probably hadn’t heard of BlackPink, BTS, EXO or Got 7 before and, more importantly, probably didn’t realize the level of brand loyalty and purchasing power of Kpop fans. Kpop’s popularity has expanded well beyond only Asian Americans. We were pleased help the ANA in putting the spotlight on the Asian American consumer and received great feedback from attendees that our upbeat informative session was a great start to the conference,” said Genny Hom-Franzen, Executive Director.
